In an industry that is obsessed with all things shiny and new, Ralph Lauren continues to be a pillar of effortless luxury. Now with 10 Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) fashion award nominations in womenswear alone, it came as no surprise that his most recent collection focused specifically on celebrating feminine silhouettes.

Dubbed “Red, White and Ralph” by social media, which emphasizes Lauren’s roots in Americana, the designer’s 2026 Spring Ready-to-Wear collection was presented at the brand’s headquarters on Madison Avenue in New York. The breezy ensembles were done in a strict red, white, and black color palette, while continuing to toe the line between traditional masculine and feminine structuring. “Strength and sensuality” is how Lauren described the collection in his show notes.

The accessories were discreet, with well-crafted bags, silver jewelry and wide-brimmed hats decorating the models as they strutted down the runway. The show gave off an overall sense of minimalism, maybe even to the point of restraint, given the vibrancy of previous collections that brought the brand back into the public eye.
This comparison brings about the question of whether this new collection was full of timeless staples or just simply boring? Not much in the collection was pushing boundaries of any kind, though many Ready-to-Wear collections often don’t. Creators on platforms such as TikTok thought the show was lacking in innovation. Celebrities who attended the show, such as Oprah Winfrey, had the opposite opinion.

“American fashion is comfortable,” said Winfrey, “It’s not fussy, it’s not pretentious, it’s not anything other than what feels comfortable to you.”
No matter what your opinion of the collection is, there is no questioning that Ralph Lauren has cemented his name in the fashion history books. After all, it takes a special designer with a keen eye for quality to stay relevant after nearly 60 years in the industry.
